Michael Strecker -- Author Reading & Signing

  • Page & Palette 32 South Section Street Fairhope, AL, 36532 (map)

In this comic novel set in New Orleans in the late 1980s, inveterate lottery player Wade Terry will risk everything—except gainful employment—to strike it rich. On his path to a dubious payout, he haphazardly unwinds the perfect order of his stepbrother’s meticulously responsible life. New Orleans humor and characters as colorful as the city itself reveal the hilarity of daily misadventures while offering insights into family, faith, and the vagaries of life.

“Move over Ignatius and A Confederacy of Dunces. The Knights of Wade with its own quirky and wacky characters is here. Mike Strecker’s debut page-turner hits the bulls-eye while capturing N’Awlins accents and its institutions.” - Angus Lind, retired Times-Picayune columnist.

“Such an engaging novel…it’s refreshing to experience belly laughter when exploring serious themes.” - John Travis, author of Pitching in the Dark

The Knights of Wade is a good story told well, funny and profound, and once you read the first page there will be no stopping until the last sentence. Hold on for the ride."

Frank Turner Hollon, author of The God File, Life Is A Strange Place ( the film Barry Munday ), Austin and Emily, and others.
